Supreme debacle

We now await the great battle for filling Justice Souter's seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. Here's what we'll see. President Obama will chose a highly educated woman jurist who will not be dogmatic (code word for goddam librul baby-killin' feminazi). She will be villified, condemned, attacked and slandered by the right-wing slime machine a.k.a. Fox News. It will go round and round, like most every other Obama Administration nominee: obstructed for purely political motives by the GOP.

But, remember this.  President Obama will not be nominating the likes of Harriet Meirs. Remember her? The clueless cheerleader for the dubya? Or remember the new Chief Justice Roberts, who was appointed after it was found how vacuous Harriet's legal wisdom really was? He has sided with the prosecution in every single case he's seen come before the Supreme Court.

So, this is how far we've come, and we will continue to see the GOP obstructing operation of our government and our country.  We should all be very grateful that we have a thinking man in the White House and hope that he is not undermined by the party of "no".
